Comics & Spyglasses

Can we say 'in the closet'? Really, the poor girl is there just to rub salt on the wounds. Salt, lemon, and the sauce of chile yahualica my aunt makes.

So, I finished Watchmen. It actually ended up giving me a headache. But no complains here, no. I liked it. I liked the portrayal of the neuroses caused by being a superhero masked vigilante.
I found Rorschach particularly interesting. His very personal brand of grammar, the fact he's a very nasty, self-righteous bastard, his past... Though more than his childhood, the event that made him snap. Really, that was awful. D:
I found Nite Owl II awkwardly cute, along with the Silk Specter. Dr. Manhattan was creepy. Ozymandias... well, he really was smart. There he was, talking about his master plan, like all villains do in comics --because he's a villain and he's in a comic--, and then, oh surprise, he wasn't wating for the right moment to act! He'd already done it! But I'd say that's what happens when you've spent quite a while depending on that exposition to save the day; you just realize that's exactly what your enemies are doing wrong. Thus, when it happened that way in Watchmen, it was a surprise, but not one lacking some logic. :P Besides, Ozymandias succeeded in doing what Mama Petrelli, Linderman & Co. failed to do.
Now, really, was that an "homage"? o.o Otherwise, why New York again? Though maybe that's the western equivalent of asking "Why the Tokyo Tower?" in anime. XD */finding excuses*

I'm also (slowly) working my way through The Amber Spyglass. I've to say I agree with the people who say Pullman is up there with C.S. Lewis with the 'my ideas on religion. Let me show you them'.
I'm still liking the trilogy, though, and I want to see the movie. Pan's voice in the trailer sounds cute.

Si me permites darte alguna sugerencia:

Top Ten(tambien del amigo Moore)

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen(otra mas de Moore, y creeme cuando te digo que NO TIENE ABSOLUTAMENTE NADA QUE VER CON LA PELÍCULA, EXCEPTO EL NOMBRE) PD: Mr. Hyde es por lejos mi personaje favorito de este comic.

The Books of Magic(Si te gusto Harry Potter, este te encantara)
