I thought Aang and Po would be quite cute if they met.

Also, I had fun imagining this with an older, already-married Aang. :p

"Maybe I took a couple of wrong turns somewhere," Aang mumbled to himself as he lowered his glider. The valley below him was very beautiful and peaceful, but he had never heard of it. It wasn't even on the map he checked before setting out. There was no way around it: he was lost.

Before he could properly panic, however, he noticed the imposing palace on top of the mountain in the middle of the valley. Perhaps he could ask for directions there. Landing inside the walls would've been rude, so Aang landed on top of the stairs. "I'm lucky I don't have to climb those," he thought with a shiver as he went to the door.

"A---a second..." someone said a few meters away right after Aang had knocked just once.

Aang looked to his right, whence the voiced had come, and saw a panda lying down on the floor, panting. He hurried to see if the animal was injured. "Are you alright, buddy?"

"I..." the panda answered, still breathing hard. "I just... need some air." He inhaled deeply and sat up. "One day, I'll get use to the stairs."

Aang smiled. "It's good to see you're okay. And, hey! I can understand you!"

The panda smiled back. "Well, you're talking." Then, he tilted his head and looked at Aang. "I hope you don't mind my asking, but what are you? I've never seen an animal like you before."

Aang laughed. "I'm not an animal. I'm a human. My name is Aang."

"Nice meeting you, human Aang. I'm Po, the Dragon Warrior!" He stood up as he said that and got into a very interesting and well-done fighting pose.

Aang tilted his head. "Dragon Warrior? Aren't you a panda?"

"I am a panda. Dragon Warrior is just my title."

"I see. I'm a martial artist too, you know?"

"Really? We should practice together!" Seemingly recovered, Po opened the door. "So, welcome to the Jade Palace, Aang. Are you here to see Master Shifu?"

"Actually, I'm lost. I was looking where to ask for directions."

"You came to the right place! We have lots of maps here! Come on, I'll introduce you to the rest of the gang. You're going to love the Furious Five!"

"Aang! Where have you been?" Katara asked when he finally went back home.

Aang gave his widest smile. "You're not going to believe I spent the last three days learning kung fu from a panda, are you?"

Katara's face was answer enough. Still, Aang thought, the experience had been worth it.
