Es de cuando Merry y Pippin quieren ir con Frodo y Elrond no acepta, Gandalf suelta un speech sobre cómo se debe confiar en la amistad de estos cosos más que en el consejo de los sabios. :P
Y entonces: "In any case, I judge that the younger of these two, Peregrin Took, should remain. My heart is against his going."

Ya cuando se van, y Sam se pone a hacer repaso de todo lo que lleva y lo que le falta:

Y ya está Elrond diciéndoles que nadie está obligado a dar ningún juramento de llegar hasta el final con Frodo:

"Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens," said Gimli.
"Maybe," said Elrond, "but let him not vow to walk in the dark, who has not seen the nigthfall!"
"Yet sworn word may strengthen quaking heart," said Gimlin.
"Or break it," said Elrond. [Speech here]
"Good... good luck," said Bilbo, stuttering with the cold. "I don't suppose you will be able to keep a diary, Frodo my lad, but I shall expect a full account when you get back. And don't be too long! Farewell!"
