Harry hadn't expected to meet Morgan while chasing those three stupid idiots who obviously got tricked into opening a portal and were now possessed by some rabid spirits. Usually, Morgan showed up once everything was sorted out to blame Harry. And when he did show up while Harry as in the process of taking care of things, he blamed Harry and interfered with the job.
This time, however, was different enough to make Harry all confused.
It'd been a real fortune that Harry had found those kids just in time to close the portal by disarraying those candles, before the whole bunch of spirits could escape to this realm. Nevertheless, each kid ended up one or two of those things inside of them. Though that didn't give them a chance against a fully trained wizard (about fifty would've been a good match), they were able to pour enough will into the youngsters to make them go away. And the boys ran very, very fast.
Besides, Harry'd just happened to be in the right place at the right moment by nothing more than mere chance (Who in the world would summon spirits that early in the morning? In Bob's words: leave it to teenagers to disrespect centuries of tradition), so he wasn't prepared to deal with possessed humans properly. Never mind that he'd never practiced that kind of exorcism before.
Still, he wasn't going to let those kids get hurt doing whatever those spirits wanted, from eight o'clock in a Saturday morning to whenever Harry had picked up the stuff he'd need from his office now he knew exactly where they were, was he? Specially when Ancient Mai would totally rule him guilty just because she could; it'd be an understatement to say he wasn't exactly in good graces with her. As a matter of fact, his stand with the Council as a whole was bad enough for Harry to be certain let's-find-an-excuse-to-mess-with-Harry-Dresden's-life had become a sport of sorts among them.
The bastards.
Yet, even though right then Morgan was being his arrogant self, as expected, he had yet to place blame on anyone. Harry found it highly unusual Morgan wasn't threatening him in the gap between one instruction and the next. Maybe it was because age was finally getting caught with the Warden and he didn't have enough breath for yelling continuously while running. Hey, dreaming is cheap.
As soon as the Warden had appeared on Harry's line of vision, moments ago, he began to bark him orders. It'd been quite irritating, because Harry was going to do exactly what Morgan wanted him to do anyway, up to a point.
Harry's plan had been 1) trap the kids, 2) hide them from public view, 3) go back to his office to consult Bob, 4) find the best way to get rid of the spirits without hurting the boys they had under control, and then 5) do it.
Morgan's plan was 1) trap the kids and then 2) get rid of the spirits—without hurting the people they were possessing, Morgan had promised after he saw Harry making faces. Luckily, he was enough of a goody two-shoes for Harry to believe him.
Thus, Morgan's plan did have less steps and saved more time and over all it was a better plan than Harry's, but Morgan didn't need to know that.
Either way, what Harry needed to focus on was finding a way to trace the circle and the runes that would contain the possessed kids. He didn't have any chalk on him. All he got was enough money to buy some milk and a cereal box, his planned breakfast, and he didn't think flattened, sugary corn could keep demons at bay.
How was he going to know a ten-minutes walk from his place to the grocery store would end up in possessed-people chasing?
The only answer was that Destiny hated him too, though that wasn't exactly news either.
Besides, Morgan didn't have anything to trace circle and runes with either, and that gave Harry a small sense of vindication.
The way things were right now, their best shot would be to try and drive the kids to a place where they could draw on the ground with a stick or something.
“Let's drive them to the park over there, Dresden! We could trace the circle there on the ground!” Morgan said, pointing at a street to their right. Harry couldn't see the park right then, but he remembered there was one two blocks away.
Harry held back a snarl. “Such a genius you are,” he muttered. “Listen, go ahead and get the circle ready. We'll meet you there.”
Morgan glared at Harry for a second. Of course, how dared he, lowly scum, give an order to a Mighty Warden? However, Morgan decided to be sensible for once and do as told. Good boy.
Now Harry had in front of him a difficult task: he had to take the possessed kids to the park. “My kingdom for a shepherd dog,” he mumbled, despite not being a dog person.
Things would be easier if instead of being chasing them, they were chasing him.
And then again, why not?, he thought as he saw a not-too-big rock lying on the ground.
Harry picked it up and he threw it towards the legs of one of them, propelled with some magical wind. Not too fast; he wanted them to pay attention to him, not to break a bone.
The boy in the middle fell down. The others noticed and stopped nearly instantly and hurried to help him up. Great to know they were all friends; that'd make things even easier.
Then, thanking Bob for teaching him back then what nouns and adjectives to avoid while around the supernatural, he began to insult the spirits while making it very obvious that he didn't have any staff nor any wand nor anything to attack them at all—except maybe the rock and he'd used that already. Also, he mentioned he'd hunt them down until his last moment on this Earth.
It worked beyond Harry's expectations.
Grinning in a way no outnumbered person should grin, Harry turned around and ran towards the park, where Morgan was all set, expecting them.
There were other Wardens in the place too, now, chasing away the joggers that came too close to the scene with what they understood by 'discretely'.
Why didn't they show up any sooner? Harry wondered a little bitterly as he was catching up with his breath while the Wardens did, y'know, their job for once.
“Dresden!” he heard Morgan calling.
Harry sighed. Here we go. Though at least they hadn't broken apart from the routine too much. “I'm tired and hungry, so let's get this over with,” he said to Morgan. “I didn't do anything. You don't believe me. Everything's fine now and that works on my favor. I don't think this is big enough for Ancient Mai to come and slap me, so—”
“You are wrong, Dresden. This is, as you call it, big.”
Harry looked around. “So, where is she? If she doesn't show up within five minutes, you'd have to do the slapping. As I said, I'm hungry.” And a hungry wizard was a grumpy wizard, which was specially true for Harry Dresden, as Bob would say if he were around.
Morgan let out an exasperated sigh. “One of those boys is the son of a very important Council member.”
Just another day's work.
Harry's lips formed an 'O' before adding, “I still didn't do anything.”
“I know,” Morgan growled.
“You do?”
“Yes.”
“Now, that's new.”
“He'd been missing for a couple of days. We found out he intended to set free some spirits into this realm, spirits that convince him they were his friends, but we didn't know exactly where he was, nor when was he going to do it.” He looked right to Harry's eyes. “If you hadn't been there to stop the spirits, it would've been a lot harder to get him back.”
Harry smiled smugly to himself. He was a fully recognized hero now? Still, there was something missing. “So...?”
Morgan looked irritated, but Harry was enjoying himself greatly. “Thank you for you for your help, Dresden,” the Warden said finally.
Harry was beaming now. “Not a problem! Being a model citizen always makes me happy. Now, if you cold tell me where to go to pick up my medal...”
“Don't push it, Dresden. You may have done something right this once, but it'll take more than just one thing to clean up your record.”
Harry snapped his fingers. “I knew it! Well, if you don't need me anymore, I'll go grab something to eat.”
“I'll be watching you.”
“I'm sure. You're that much of a voyeur.”
Harry turned around before seeing Morgan's reaction to that last one and walked away. He vowed never to leave his house again if he wasn't at least carrying the drumstick with him, even if he was only going to throw out the garbage.

Eso le ha gustado, a pesar de que no ha leído los libros y la idea que se hace de los personajes es muy vaga. Sí, sabe que es una serie también, y probablemente la vea próximamente...Por el slash (?)
Saludos. :3
