The Dresden Files

The walrus has found a suspect! You can follow the bucket saga here. Begins in page two.
Can I Has Cheezburger has become my (current) favorite site. :p

I'm on chapter 10 of the first The Dresden Files novel and I'll begin saying that I'm truly loving the thing. And just as much as the TV series, no more, no less.

Yet, so far, I like tv!Morgan better; he seems more self-collected--and intelligent--than his book counterpart. But I do know that I've only seen book!Morgan for a couple of pages and entirely through Harry's filters, and since Harry doesn't like him at all, well, you know. Future events can change that perception, though, and actually show book!Morgan as a sympathetic character. For the reader, I mean.

As for Harry Dresden himself, what's not to love there? :P He's such a smartass! And plain smart too, I'd say. And bitter, we can't forget bitter. Both of his versions are constructed in a very solid, appealing way. Very verisimilar, if you ask me.

One of the things that I find very amusing from the tv show is that Harry's staff is a hockey stick, but that detail is missing from the books where Harry seems to have a normal staff. But it doesn't really matter--really--, because there are many other details in the book that are made of awesome, like Mister.

Mister is a cat and Harry's owner (if you know cats, you'll know what I mean :P). Mister hasn't done much so far, but been there and that's enough, because it shows a side of Harry that is there in the tv show, but doesn't show up as much.

Now, Bob. I adore tv!Bob with burning fangirl passion, and his backstory is just that heartbreaking. Also, I'm sure Harry got most of his sarcasm out of Bob.
Book!Bob seems more of a perv. And less angsty about his situation, but then again, I haven't seen much of him either and, on the other hand, this one isn't human, so probably the handling of the feelings is different. We'll see.

Also, I hope either Toot or other fairies show up again later. I still want a crossover with Fairly Odd Parrents. Toot was amazing, cute love. And the bit about Harry having a fairy godmother and the one about Santa Claus intrigued me to no end.
I know asking for a Christmas Special sounds lame, but one following the Dresden-verse rules could be incredibly awesome. :3
