I haven't read The Children of Hurin; I was just randomly remembering The Silmarillion while in a boring class and how, back in the day, I used to get into long debates with a friend about who was a more tragic figure, whether Túrin or Gollum. ^^U
While Turin, Morwen and Nienor were cursed, in the end it was their own choices and arrogance that did them in Just like Oedipus, who, trying to avoid the prophesy, ran away from the house he'd been raised in and made it all happen. When you're doomed, you're DOOMED.
