The sound of music?
Every time I grow more convinced that most people I know react differently to music than me. The people I know usually relate to the lyrics, to the words that are said. I usually don't. I react to the sounds themselves. I don't need nostalgic lyrics. I roll my eyes at songs with words about lost loves and broken hearts. And that's when I actually bother to pay them any attention. That's why I'm often surprised about what songs say, because I finally heard them.
If you want to see me crying over music, get me Raein instead. That's the kind of music that gets to the very core of my soul and breaks it. That's the sort of souns I resonate with.
This also works with happier stuff. Again, I don't need the lyrics, just upbeat music. And not every upbeat music works for me. I can be very, very picky about it.
And maybe that's also why I tend to favor women singers over men. I find their voice sweeter, more melodious.
And, at the end, it's my choice what I listen to, specially when I'm not bothering anyone.
