Book meme - Day 04
Aug. 13th, 2010 02:05 pmDay 04 – Your favorite book or series ever
So many difficult questions. D: I should stop thinking so much about them and just go (keep going) with the first one that pops to my mind when I read them. It'd make my life easier. XD
So, here we go:
Inkworld
The first work by Cornelia Funke I ever read (I even have the first one signed eeee ♥), and now I have a handful others, including a picture book about a luck fairy, which are quite good, but Inkworld is just that amazing.
I love books about books and Inkworld is very meta. The world within the world is magnificent and the characters are so vivid. It's fun how all the good guys love books while the bad guys don't and only the smarter ones about them only get interested in them when they realize books can be useful. Also, this justifies the elaborated speeches by practically everyone, and all the quoting and referencing they go around doing.
And the first timefirebending Dustfinger's work with fire is described is beautiful. *__*
Also, I want a personal library like Elinor's someday. /rolls around
( The rest of the questions/prompts )
ETA Suddenly, I want to do this meme with high-brow stuff to make myself look "intellectual" instead of answering with titles I do like. XD
I think I'll do that version in one post when I'm officially done with this, just for fun.
